PHRED 8D Software
Managing Problems from Start to FinishPHRED 8D is a problem solving software system. It guides users through all of the steps of creating an 8D, finding root cause, preventing problem reoccurrence and sharing information. It is configurable to reflect your organization's structure, products, data, customers and suppliers.
PHRED 8D is simple to use and intuitive, designed for the occasional user as well as regular problems solvers, experts and managers. The neutral, question-based structure helps produce an atmosphere of collaboration with a focus on the problem, not the individual or the process.
Issue ID - Issues are identified and tracked on a single, configurable screen
8D Steps - Significant issues are promoted to the 8D process as problems
Reports - Standard and self-generated reports let you know what is going on with a specific problem, associated problems or with all problems across the organization and its supply chain. Custom reports and dashboards can also be created for your organization.
Actions - Actions are assigned and tracked. E-mail reminders are sent. Action Reports show what is outstanding and what has been completed.
Training - Configurable, online training is included screen-by-screen in the system. On-site training classes are also provided by PHRED Solutions.
Share Knowledge - PHRED 8D structures communication between problem solvers, experts and management. Knowledge is shared between plants with similar problems. People with similar interests are able to find each other and work together.
Compliance & Collaboration - PHRED customers typically have highly complex security, system access, integration and data storage and retrieval needs. They also, in apparent contradiction, need collaboration, openness, speed of access, ease of data retrieval and flexibility. D1 - Problem solvers, experts and managers share a common process and information
Database - Problem information is captured in an easily searchable database. Users know if a problem has happened before, what was done about it, and who worked on it. The database becomes the collective memory of the organization and a focus for improvement.
D2 - A well-formed, sharable problem description with supporting information is created
D3 - Temporary fixes are put in place and monitored
D4 - Root cause is understood and verified, examining both possible and actual causes
D5 & D6 - Permanent solutions are outlined, authorized and put in place
D7 & D8 - Closed loops remove the temporary fixes, prevent reoccurrence and audit the solution
